The recipe used was from the book
25 Years of Favorite Brand Name Baking.

I was not able to make the recipe *exactly* as it is written, because I did not have all the spices. The spices called for in the muffins are allspice, nutmeg and coriander. I only had the nutmeg. So I used the nutmeg, and replaced the coriander and allspice with cinnamon - figured it was better than nothing right?
These were super fast and easy to put together. Not a lot of clean-up afterward at all. They are yummy, but they're on the dry side. I think with some tweaking to make them moister they'd be perfect. They might be even better, too, with a struesel topping instead of dipping the tops in melted butter then in cinnamon-sugar. A struesel topping would also eliminate the need to handle the muffins while hot, thus saving you some burnt fingers.
